Hydropower Dams
Hydropower dams are another form of clean energy but they can still affect the environment. They do not produce air pollutants but it still affects thins like the local fish population. It can change the physical and ecological characteristics of the river which can negatively affect local plants and wildlife. Producing the material to build the dam and building the dams will also produce a lot of fossil https://www.eia.gov/energyexplained/hydropower/hydropower-and-the-environment.php
I have never heard of hydro dams but this is good to know that people are thinking of any possible way to make changes. It is unfortunate however that there are some serious negatives to this solution.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of hydropower generators are really neat, I did not know there was such a thing. With every good thing like this comes bad things as well and this article definitely explained it well. It is nice that it does not directly pollute the air but it still affects the environment that hold all the fish and our water source. It is hard to find a happy medium that will be good for both environment and air. It is a shame that it would have a large impact on fish and plants.
