Renewable energy on contaminated land

 Hannah Bailey

The idea of putting renewable energy on contaminated land is a great idea. The land may be contaminated due to things like landfills. If we put a renewable energy source here this will allow us to become less dependent on nonrenewable sources that are going to run out eventually. Doing so can even reduce land taxes because its reusing land that isn't usable for human interaction activities. This isnt only a great thing for the economy, it is better for the environment. This helps fight against global warming and is using land that has already been corrupted. The amount of land we have is becoming scarce. There is only about 5% of land that hasn’t been touched by human kind. The Center for Creative Land recycling is a organization that is helping expand the idea of land recycling. “Recycling land” is going to be a great way to save land and save our planet.

  1. Hannah,
I've never heard of the term 'Land Recycling ', but sounds like an amazing alternative. Our current state of mind is to use and move on. The second something proves even just a little bit useless to us we move on, but if there's away to get better and longer usage out of the lands we use than more people need to be looking into this. The less land we can impact the greater chance of survival we and all life on earth can have. But what's encouraging is that it can have a positive impact on the economy. Our world revolves around money, and so, if we can preserve it in away, or help get more money to our economies, then our government will be more willing to put in the effort needed to make this change. Very interesting read Hannah, thank you!

  2. I agree with your blog 100%, I think this idea is brilliant. The land that has been corrupted and can not be used would be a perfect spot for something like this so we do not use any more land and no land is being wasted. This is a smart way to do some good with our environment, rather than doing more damage. I found it very interesting that there is only about 5% of land that has not been touch by mankind. That is such a small number to think about with how much land we have in the world. I think this was a very neat article and a good way to use land that has been contaminated by humans.

  3. I think your post is very interesting and it nice to read about renewable energy. I think it'll be nice if we took a chance on changing how we look at all the waste in this world. Converting to a different system might be what we need and it would probably help out a lot more then what we do now.
