Sea Shepherd

Today I’m going to talk a little about the association “sea shepherd” because a few years ago, I remember that my dad bought my a T-shirt with their logo on. I was confused at first because I didn’t understand why he bought it for me but after he explained to me that he was helping this association because they are trying to protect marine wild life. Their mission is to protect, conserve and defend our ocean. Sea Shepherd is an international, non-profit marine conservation organization. They take direct action to protect the marine wildlife from illegal exploitation and environment destruction. They fight for the health of our ocean ecosystem, they are trying to prevent overfishing and habitat destruction. They work with national authorities to attack illegal fishing in sovereign waters. The sea shepherd fleet play a crucial role in their mission because they travel around the world with it, from Antarctica to Africa. In 1977, sea shepherd was founded by Paul Watson who was an original member of greenpeace.
Rasmus,
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about efforts toward animal and ecosystem conservation. It reminds me that there are a small few who understand the dangers of losing wildlife. Marine life is so crucial to the worlds ecosystems because it literally takes up more than 70% of the world and water s something that everybody and thing depends on to live in some way, shape, or form. I've never heard of the Sea Shepard association, which can be a bad or good thing. But generally non-profits do work because they believe in what they are doing and what they are fighting for.
