Hydropower

Hydropower is the use of water to make mechanical energy. Some of they earliest forms of this where just small buildings with A large wooden attached to it that sits in a stream. When the stream moves it rotates the wheel and that moves gears in the building. A lot of the modern forms of this are dams. This larger dams are used to power some city’s. Hydropower is one of the main sources of renewable energy in the United States. One of the largest one of these dams is the Hoover dam.

  1. I personally think dams are a beautiful thing. Each year when we visit Lake of the Ozarks, we always make sure to go behind the dam and look at it. We just enjoy looking at the huge fish that are being shoved around because of the circulation of the turbines. There are little readings about how the dam came to be and all the electricity it powers to the city. I think they are a good source of energy and provide a lot of power, plus they do not seem that harmful to marine life.

  2. I think that the idea is brilliant. The fact that its renewable energy is good for the environment, but I did some reachers on how badly dams can affect the environment, so it has its pros and cons. Great post !
