Stand for Trees
Hannah Bailey
Did you know the more land that is being overtaken by different organizations is not increasing Climate Change, it is decreasing the amount of land we have left? Stand For Trees is a donation organization that is trying to help protect our forests from different organizations that want to use the land for crops or cattle. How the organization works is by viewers donating to a forest of their choice, the organization takes in the donation to make the forest “worth an amount of money. On the stand for tree website it states “when keeping forests standing is worth real money, suddenly there’s an alternative to cutting them down.” With the REDD+ Model, Stand For Trees is able to accomplish this. This reduces deforestation, loss of habitats, and increases the chances for endangered species to repopulate. By keeping the forests alive, we are keeping the habitats, communities, and increasing our chances against global warming.

I believe that this website is very important especially in the social climate we are in. I strongly believe key habitats and homes for animals and indigenous people are being taken by the hands of cooperate businesses. I think the idea of taking donations and giving the donor the choice also helps them feel more involved. I also think it will also help the donor feel good because their donation is actually going to a good cause!
ReplyDeleteThe donation organization Stand for trees is something I’m familiar with and a great step forward on solving this global warming crisis. I heard even a small amount of money can be a great effort to help the problems with the decrees of tress because of deforestation. This baby trees that this organization are planting is something that the future generation is going to get their oxygen from to be able to breath. This trees are helping us, but they are also going to help build new habitats for animals. I think donation programs like this are helping us when the government doesn’t want to solve the global warming problem.
